VIDAA Launches NRK App in Norway, Expanding Streaming Options for Smart TV Users

VIDAA has rolled out the NRK app on its smart TV platform in Norway, giving users direct access to one of the country’s most popular public broadcasting services. The move is part of VIDAA’s ongoing effort to strengthen its offerings in the Nordic market by partnering with local content providers.

Norwegian viewers with VIDAA-powered TVs—including brands like Hisense and Toshiba—can now stream NRK’s lineup of news, sports, dramas, and children’s programming without needing an external device. The app is available in the VIDAA App Store and supports both live and on-demand viewing

The addition of NRK fills a key gap in VIDAA’s content library, as many Norwegian households rely on the public broadcaster for entertainment and news. Shows likeSkamandHver gang vi møtes, as well as major national events, will now be more easily accessible to smart TV users.

This follows VIDAA’s previous integrations with major streaming platforms like Netflix, Viaplay, and TV 2 Play, positioning it as a competitive option in Norway’s crowded smart TV market. The company has hinted at more local partnerships in the future as it continues to refine its offerings for regional audiences.

For now, the NRK app provides a straightforward way for Norwegian users to access free, high-quality content directly from their TVs—one less reason to reach for a separate streaming stick or set-top box.
